Gaza band live in PhiladelphiaPurveyors of progressive crust, Gaza, recently brought its headlining US tour to Philadelphia’s Broad St. Ministry along with Code Orange Kids and Full Of Hell for a blistering showcase hosted by the Philly Hardcore Shows booking group that saw locals Wrong Answer and Congenital Death set the night in motion. Blow The Scene was on hand to deliver new video interviews with Gaza and Code Orange Kids, and of course, more stellar photo galleries of all of the guilty parties for your viewing pleasure.

Congenital Death set the evening ablaze with their own dirty blend of fast punk and murky sludge. One of the newest additions to Philly’s blossoming underbelly of angry punk and hardcore bands, be sure to check out the streaming music below. Philadelphia-area band Wrong Answer put in another banger, as these boys are no strangers to BTS. We’ve covered Wrong Answer on a number of notable performances, including This Is Hardcore Fest 2012. The band recently racked up a memorable performance at the annual Sincerity Fest in Pittsburgh and will be touring the US again in 2013. We’ve included samples of the band’s latest EP below, Cross A Black Cat’s Path, so be sure to scope that and purchase a download if you have a few extra bucks.

Maryland’s sludge-riddled grind punks, Full Of Hell, set off the touring band trifecta that saw the intensity level rocket upward in what seemed like an unstoppable trajectory. In a hail storm of flailing limbs and vein-bursting screams, Full Of Hell broke off a suffocating performance that was executed flawlessly with an articulate and punchy sound, inducing pile-ons and violent crowd reactions. Full of Hell continue to support a split 7″s with Calm the Fire and The Guilt of.. available respectively at Holy Roar Records and A389 Recordings. Definitely a band to keep an eye on in 2012.

Code Orange Kids live in PhiladelphiaCode Orange Kids took the stage next and quietly set up their equipment, lulling the crowd into into the false pretense that we could get a breather. There is nothing quiet or subtle about the experience when Code Orange Kids strike the opening chords. It’s like an atomic reaction that burns the air it consumes, with a sludgy bottom-end that punishes as it plows forward with choppy blasts, segments of hardcore, and even snotty punk. Whereas some bands play songs, Code Orange Kids present movements of unbridled emotion spewing forth in their own blend of organized chaos. The band continues to support their debut full-length on Deathwish Inc, Love is Love // Return To Dust, that is making waves across the hardcore and punk landscapes. Drummer / singer, Jami Morgan was kind enough to sit down with Blow The Scene for an exclusive interview where he touches on the making of Love is Love // Return To Dust, tour life, plans for 2013 and much more. You can view this interview in the YouTube player below.

Salt Lake City’s rising quartet, Gaza, commandeered the stage for the final performance of the evening, immediately casting an ominous presence as towering vocalist Jon Parkin paced the width of the crowd. With quick spoken segues introducing one searing musical commentary after the next, Gaza have become one of the most engaging extreme metal bands touring currently. Equally comfortable in the crowd as on stage stage, Parkins put a face and dialogue to the unrelenting barrage of powerful musical movements with searing guitar lines, thick bottom, and surprisingly delicate melodies that managed to seep through the wall of guitar speakers. With their third and breakthrough album, No Absolutes in Human Suffering on Black Market Activities in hand, the band is a force to be reckoned with having already made top lists of 2012 including Decibel’s coveted Top 40 Albums of The Year. We recently caught up with vocalist Jon Parkin for an exclusive interview last month, and we were fortunate to sit down with him again for a video interview preceding this show as he touched on the current situation in the Gaza strip, tour life, Thanksgiving, and more in this new exclusive interview.

We know you are hear for the interviews and pictures, so without further ado..
